Upgrading the DBBQ Community Forums
« on: July 13, 2012, 09:20:59 AM »
Changes coming
Brett and I have been discussing a few important items that relate to our forum software.  In order to stay in compliance with the requirements of our current host (and to provide a better experience for our community) we will be upgrading and/or changing our forum software in the near future.  The software we've used for over 3 years now has served us well but is becoming outdated.

OK, why tell us?
We felt it is good to let you know for two reasons:
1) Things could get buggy during the transition.
2) Certain modifications (ie. badges) or old threads may be lost temporarily (best case) or completely (worst case).

In a perfect world everything that is available now will be available after the transition but we felt it was important to give you all a "heads up" before we proceed.  We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Thanks,

Steve

Ditto to what Vanished said!!!
What has mood to do with it? You fight when the necessity arises-no matter the mood! Mood's a thing for cattle or making love or playing the baliset. It's not for fighting.

A)  Thanks for all the time, hard work and resources you guys put into this great site and community that we all enjoy.

B)  I'm happy with the current forum but I'm sure after an initial adjustment period whatever new forums we have will be even better!

C)  Lose my badges?!?!?!  NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOooooooooo! :P

It is cliche to say but absolutely true that it is you all that makes this place great.  Brett and I love being part of it and have a ton of fun working on these projects together.

It's gonna be a rocky road for a bit but we are moving forward, thanks for the patience. There will be some interruptions as you may noticed already.

Hoping to get the new software upgrade in place before it gets too late tonight, but it's taking forever to do a backup (over 20,000 files). The forum has been dropped to its "default theme" for the time being. Fingers crossed everything goes OK.

Looks like its working good so far!  Seems like the functionality is pretty much the same.  Will this forum still be compatible with tapatalk?

Yes, we just need to install some new mods though for quite few features as well and update the theme templates structure. What your seeing right now is bare bones install, it will get better though, lol.

Very slick boys, very slick.

Now I'm greeted with my psycho pig every time I open up the Q.

:edit:

HEY!

Quit changing the theme!
