ME3 Extended Cut released today, 6/26
« on: June 26, 2012, 12:16:28 PM »
Accessed through the "Download Content" link in the ME3 main menu.

Supposed to expand on the ending sequences that many folks seemed to have taken issue with. I wasn't one of them but can't say I'm not curious to see what additions it will add to my ending.

1.85gb... Free, of course.

Neat.

The largest addition seems to be a new option. Whereas before your options were Destruction, Control or Assimilation - there is now a fourth option of choosing to do none of the three options presented and let things continue as they are... like a punk.

To access them after downloading you'll have to reload a save near the ending and play through it again... what I read was before the "Attack on Cerberus Base" but I had the option to restart the mission "Citadel: The Return" which is ideal since it drops you right at the start of the ending narrative.

If you'd rather not bother follow the link below and you can just watch them without playing back through...

I haven't even finished ME3...got about 1/2 way through the campaign and got bored...traded it in a while back....might pick it up again when it is cheaper...but I doubt it.

I haven't even started ME3 yet.  I only finished ME3 not long before 3 dropped so I'm really in no rush and have tried to avoid any and all discussion about the ending.  All I will say about the release of this DLC is that artists should never alter their work because a bunch of greasy-faced dorks don't care for they they did. :P

To be fair, and too their credit, they didn't alter the endings. They took the "suggested" and (imo) obvious conclusions one could have reached watching the original ending(s) and spelled it out for you. I don't think it really has that big an impact compared to the first versions... though I think the addition of the fourth option is ludicrous, for a game that's "thing" was making choices to be able to be completed by not making one.  ::)
