Anybody using the Windows phone? Hooking up with XBL? Do you love it? Do I need it in my life? Cause I kinda think I might.

I have a HTC HD7 Windows Phone and really like it.  The XBL stuff is cool and all, but not a reason to change platforms just for that.  I like the tiles and clean interface and moving around between stuff sure is quick and responsive.

I'm Android now, but not necessarily married to it. I picked it over Windows because I had friends who liked their androids (verizon friends) and because the screen on this one was the biggest one out there. Just kinda thinking it would be cool to be all MS again. And xbox connected. And play battleship on my phone. Not cool to lose all my angry birds stats though. I worked hard on long on that!

They have Angry Birds (the first one) on Windows Phone and 200 achievement points to go towards your account.  LOL

Maybe go into one of the cell phone stores and have them demo one for you?

So I went to Best Buy to pick up a Windows phone that I had read really good reviews on (dont remember now which it was). Anyway I didn't get one. I found out that they use Bing instead of Google so I would lose navigation. I use it too much to give it up. But the guy said that he thinks before the 720 comes out that Android will hook up with Microsoft and we will get connectivity. I hope so!

I don't think Window Phones even come clost to comparing to Android in terms of functionality.

Yeah looking through the available apps the Windows phones are great for business functionality, but is somewhat lacking in the entertainment department. I do think they will step it up though. It's relatively new. Android has been around forever. I'm going to cross my fingers than Android and xbox have a baby. And adopt me.

Lindy..looks like you may have made a great decision.  M$ is having a press conference about the new Windows Phone 8 now.  If current users are not able to upgrade their current phones, there are going to be a lot of pissed people out there (myself included).

Oh wow! I think I did make the right decision! And I was just on the verge of doing it. If it had free navigation I would probably have done it.

Well, appears current users cant update their existing phones to 8, but they are going to release version 7.8 that will let your phone have the new start screen and ability to adjust tile sizes like windows phone 8.  Updates will also be over air (wi-fi), bypassing the carriers.  Having to wait for your carriers to supply the updates sure slows things down, so thats a nice touch.

Just a quick comment that after a week owning one, the Windows8 phone is perfect for my needs.

Seemless integration with all of my Outlook and Office applications is built right into the phone, and so it the Xbox stuff.  So my work and play are covered!

I am using Xbox Live more and more for entertainment options, and the new Smart Glass app turns my phone into a Surface interface for the XBox.  It is the only way to scroll through all these movie menus and such.

With 130,000 apps out there, I'm sure I'll be able to find whatever I need beyond what I already have woven into daily life.

Loving the built in wireless recharger too. Never have to fark with cords again.
