Ya, same deal for me.  Started the download, fell asleep on the couch, woke up and it was 6:30.  Figured playing for 30mins wasn't worth it lol.

Maybe next week...

Yea the larger than expected DL threw a wrench in the works for last night. I turned on the XBox around 6:30 and when I looked at 7 it was only about half finished. But I was ready to go at 9 even after indulging the wife with an episode of Breaking Bad. At nine I could see everyone on BF3 menus and I knew what you guys had in store. I think it was around 10 when Nunzie and then around 10:30 when Hawk completed their DL and joined in. Hopefully we can get everyone out again soon.

Tried to get on at a decent time but was pulled away, I skipped the update and was still able to join games later at night but by then you guys were all gone. Will get on for next Monday if we're having another session.

thinking hurts - yeah, saw you in my game around 11:30 est but I was having all kinds of lag so I just gave up (was time for bed anyway). By the way, you would not have been able to play with the other guys without the update as the two versions are incompatible (I know because I tried).

Speaking of the different versions, the pre-patch version I was playing had a bunch of official EA conquest servers with ALL of the classic maps + Gulf of Oman on one rotation and all of the B2K maps on the other and NO rental servers. And get this, once I downloaded the new patch all of these EA servers mysteriously vanished and I was back in rental server land. I actually then went back and deleted the patch as I thought I was going crazy to see if the EA conquest servers would re-appear and they did !

Bottom line is I actually thought they had put back the original official server rotations but looks as if that is not the case unless things have changed again today.

You must have a very inquisitive nature to be willing to delete a DL that takes that long just to see if the other servers come back! Hopefully you DL it back, leave your alternate reality and join us next time.  :D

Yeah, I seem to obsessed with getting the original servers back so figured I could enjoy my alternate reality for a little while but I will be back on board next time around !

Can anyone explain why a game update is 2.4 gigs?  I only have a little over 2 GB on my xbox hard drive and I'm thinking this game isn't worth taking up that much space for.

My guess is this update invludes all the DLC.  The DLC gets unlocked as you purchase.

Yes, they make you download the DLC even if you aren't planning on buying it, which is absolutely ridiculous. Luckily I upgraded my hard drive a year or so ago because this game is now taking up 20GB of space, so imagine how much it will take up by the time they are finished with all of the DLC ! They should really take into account the fact that not everyone has tons of extra space on their hard drive.

Another stupid decision related to the management of this game.  Its like they want people to stop playing.

Sent from my Android phone using Taptalk 2.

Yep, why I've stopped playing other than whenever I can make it for Monday nights with you guys. EA / DICE, have royally effed this game up.
