I missed your post here, but you found me online anyway.  Thanks for the racing, SRoth!  (I keep thinking the S stands for Sheldon, but I don't think I've ever seen you post what it is.)

I haven't run either of those tracks in months, and it shows.  I still suck, but I think I can see some improvement in my driving.

In other news, I've updated my MG in the CG with a tune for Maple Valley, and added some mild graphics so it's not quite as plain.

By the way, how does my voice sound to you guys?  I use a Kinect for a mic, and I have no idea how it sounds.  And do you have any tips for being able to hear voices better in Forza?  I've got the voice volume maxed out and the game volume down around 25%, but it doesn't really seem to help.  Part of the problem with SRoth was that his voice was breaking up for me.  I didn't really notice that until Jase started talking, and he was much more understandable for me.

The voice through Kinect sounded like you were in a hallway.  I noticed it immediately because you sounded very different from the usual headset users.  I thought maybe your Mic was really far from your mouth guess it was short of true . . .

The broken voice is due to the internet connection quality.  Some you'll hear clearly; others, no.  And its different for different people, even in the same lobby.

As for getting back to racing, my recommendation is to start from F class FWD.  They may not be as powerful or glamorous but teaches you how to keep the vehicle momentum.  We race F Class on Saturdays and it is a blast.

Great to see both Rich and jase in the lobby.  Too bad the tracks were tough and only 4 of us in the room due to the holiday and all.

Thanks to both of you guys for showing up. I did see some good improvement in your driving Rich. It take time and practice GRD is right you have to learn to drive before you can drive fast. I have years of bad habits to overcome I think I am 90% there. I also find that it takes awhile to learn a car. By the time we run a car in a series for a month or so I get a good feel for the car. Also the tracks it takes laps to learn a track I only feel good on a couple of tracks. So keep it up. I have finished last plenty of times and its not where you finish as long as you learn something.

hey whats up guys, good to see a couple extra people made the Wed. night race. Back from vacation and ready to put in some laps.

 Just went to the Colorado river, for a week or so. Got some kayaking, jetskiing, tubing, drinking and lots of carne asada oh ya did I mention drinking. Anyways like I said looking forward to Wed. night. here is a quick vid, took my girlfriend up to the hills to go shooting, while we were there.

Yes I know its the wrong way to fire a shotgun properly. She is so small, she cant hold it against her shoulder properly. Good thing about a shotgun, it can be fired from the hip, although not the most accurate. For home defense mainly so I figured she should know the basics.  Yes we have a nice river punch, that sneeks up on you before you realize it.

Good and even great racing last night guys in spite of the rocky starts.

I wish I had more time to dedicate to testing/tuning to get these cars more closely matched.

I've got Maserati to go 48.x at Tsukuba but that was 1 lap out of 30 . . .  I'm going to take 250TR out of the garage and give it a test run . . .

Great racing last night, good job OG no matter what I tried I couldnt get by. When I did finally manage I couldnt make it stick. The acceleration of the Ferrari out of the turns is what got me. Tried going wide tried late braking just couldnt get by.  Great save when you got up on two wheels, and SRoth's roll was almost slow motion. Looked like he was going to pull it off, but the car had other ideas.

Will put some time in with the Ferrari and let you know aboutfriday night.

It's twice as bad on the Ferrari I'm driving just ahead of the BMW because there are four pipes.
