Interest for LeMans Endurance Race Post

On Saturday, May 26th June 9th, I'm planning on hosting LeMans type endurance race.  I've mentioned it more than once but since it is a big commitment it has never materialized.  Saturday is being targeted so that we can have both NA and EU team members participate.

Finally, I think the time is right and we do not have a EU race planned that Saturday as far as I know.

I'm looking for interest level.  Many of you have shown interest in the past.

There should be at least 3 drivers for each class (R1/R2/R3).  If there are many drivers, then we will split up evenly in 1 or 2 classes.  If there are many drivers, then we could cover all classes.  This race will be 2010 or later cars only.  For older cars it will have to be a separate race.

Race will be held at LeMans modern track, of course, and in shorter heats of 30~40 minutes each so that we can take a break between runs.  It will be at least 1 hour long, no more than 2 hours long (so maybe 3~4 heats to simulate pit stops since FM4 tires wear very slowly and fuel last for so long).

Drop in with your interest in which class you are interested in and your endurance level so that I can organize.

Thank you.

Hey GRD.  I still have interest in that type of event, but the Memorial Day weekend isn't going to work for me.  Playing mechanic on my son's kart that weekend.

Dang, should have checked the dates.  May 26th was the 1st date picked but not the only choice.  I'll change May 26th to tentative.

Actual LeMans is June 16/17 so we can run on June 2nd, June 9th, or even on June 16th (but I would like to watch LeMans on that day).

I can't do the 26th either and would be up for this.
After then I should be able to do any saturday

My choice of car would probably be a 911 RSR after next Tuesday!
Otherwise an Audi R1 maybe...

I will join, if it is not to late in the evening (or I'm only an obstacle in your way early in the morning  :P).
I think I go with R3 if it's possible, in R2 or R1 I really suck.
My car choice is BMW 2010 Z4 GT3, or the 2011 Ferrari F458 Italia, or ... hmm Lambo?!

So many car choices!

Then it's decided.  We will NOT run on May 26th.  We will do some shakedown run on June 2nd, then run the race on June 9th.

Sounds interesting, think I will throw my name in for this one. Would like to run R1 class Mazda 787. Although will be checking out the Porches when they hit the DLC. So car choice might change, but really like the Mazda. Glad it was pushed back, will be out of town for memorial, so June works just fine :)

Medik8d, welcome on board!

For this event, we will be running 2010 or later models.

We will have classic LeMans after (date not set yet).

Official race thread will be announced sometime this week.

June 2nd run is optional and for evaluation only.  Bring your race car for shakedown and compare laptimes.

So that we are not running outrageous cars, the cars will be limited to R3 race cars in FM4 (the real life replicas and no Koenigseggs).

Does this mean no upgrading to PI800?
My 458 Italia in the CG would be my choice, not sure if it is it w/o the upgrade.

I have not checked to see how much upgrade is possible on these cars.
