Game: Kinectimals
Reviewed-By: IAC and IAC's Son
Platform: Xbox 360
Genre: Arcade, Casual, and Platformers

Presentation-Rating: 5 out of 5 Briquettes
Presentation-Comments: - Great looking game presentation and very  easy to use menu system. Took a bit but not long at all before my son was zooming around the game and without any help from dad, which is testament to a well designed interface.

Gameplay-Rating: 4 out of 5 Briquettes
Gameplay-Comments: - Like most Kinect games there is feel out period to get used to the nuances of the controls but it did not take long to get the feel for it. They are in every aspect of the game but it's not all just about playing with Kinectimals. There are lots of mini games from what we can see so far.

Audio-Rating: 4 out of 5 Briquettes
Audio-Comments: - Subtle and draws you into the feel and mood of the game, you take for granted it's there. Sound is very well done.

Graphics-Rating: 4 out of 5 Briquettes
Graphics-Comments: -  The animals are very detailed and well animated and the environments are excellent. Graphics are amazing, top notch all around.

Longevity-Rating: 3 out of 5 Briquettes
Longevity-Comments: - The commercials for this game are deceptive as it only looks like you play with your pets. There is more do than we thought but the verdict is still out on it's life span.

Overall-Rating: 4 out of 5 Briquettes

Final-Thoughts: Quote from my son... "I really like (almost love) this game. My favorite part of Kinectimals is exploring new places and interacting with my pet's"

Based on the great review we picked up our Kinect on the weekend. Kinectimals is the first console game my daughter has ever played (she just turned four) and she absolutely loves it. Thanks for the review IAC!

What do you think about the Kinect itself? Glad to hear your daughter is enjoying it. That is all my daughter has been asking for Christmas.

So far so good - I've been playing Kinect adventures with my wife an having a lot of fun. The only problem we've had is that our ceiling in the basement is way too low - we've had a few heads through ceiling tiles. :) I think the next purchase will be Dance Central (not my idea but I'm sure I'll end up playing it anyways).

I hope they do more with it and we see more games that make use of it. Maybe a FPS that moves the view on the screen as you move your head. I'd love to see a flying game that makes use of it as well - maybe hang gliding or skydiving.
