Xbox Headset Working Again!
« on: April 15, 2010, 06:52:26 PM »
So, I was having some intermittent issues with my headset. It stopped working for no apparent reason. I could find nothing physically wrong with it, and my second one didn't work either. Next step, pull off the chatpad and try it. Everything is ok. Great! Snap the chatpad back on and it stops again. Oh oh, could it be a problem in the chatpad? Size it up, and there is a gap around the batteries. Apply a bit more pressure and SNAP. Now it is seated properly, and the headset works again. It looks the same on top, but fitted more snugly around the battery housing. Happy days are here again.  ;D

Glad you found the issue, Peter. I know when it is something that isn't that obvious trying to find the problem gets frustrating.

It always seems so simple after it's fixed, must have been frustrating. Glad it's working for you now.  :)

I experienced the same thing.  Its works now but it happened a lot when I first got it.  I do like the heft of controller with the chat pad.

I like having the chatpad on the controller too. I must have removed it at some point, and not given enough effort to snapping it back into place. Anyway, I thought I'd post this in case someone else was ever having troubles, and hadn't tried this possible fix.
