I hear this is quite good.  Some ppl have been able to get through the demo with killing only 2 ppl and not the whole world.  But than Ubi had to force you to kill and not let you pass in any shape or form.

Yeah, the preview video looks really good. Sam is looking grittier than ever. Some of the new gameplay they have added looks good too, nice to see they are pushing ahead with new ideas each time out. I was a big fan of the original Splinter Cell on the Xbox 180, I'll need to clear some space off the HDD and try this out.

Any Q'ers try this out yet, I'd love to hear your impressions?

Thought the demo was great, the opening scene kind of previews everything Fisher can do which was impressive. Game looks polished and should be pretty violent if the first scene is anything to go by. Gameplay was smooth, Fisher is way faster and slicker as well, I kinda remember him being a little stiff in previous Splinter Cells. Should be a killer game.

Demo was pretty slick. Stealth games have never had a huge draw with me but I may GF this one at least.

It seems to me with this installment, the inclusion of the "execution" moves eliminates some of the tedious stealth that was in prior Splinter Cell games. In order to get that move, you have to perfom some hand-to-hand takedowns.

I am really diggin the demo. The cover move system is slick and easy to use. Still, mulitiple ways to attack and approach entry ways. I think I am sold on it and will probably reserve this now. The co-op in this game should be ALOT of fun.

You all have me a little disappointed on this game and what you are looking for.  Splinter Cell was never a game of 'valiance' Sam was all about leaving no footprints.  Ubi has turned it in to another run-n-gunner like all their other games.  The hard core SC fans that I know are really put off by this game.  BUT I do understand that you can get through the demo with killing only 2 people and than you are forced into doing it.   :'(
So this leaves me in a quandary do I get the game or not.  April is just around the corner but I still don't know.

Good points Angel. Even "sneaking up" on tangos is different. Remember the noise meter? I think it was in Chaos Theory where if you made the slightest bit of noise, you were comprimised. In the demo, it just seemed like the tangos were just standing there with their backs to you w/o a care in the world and it was pretty easy to just spring up on them.

They have incorporated some new stuff with Conviction, like the slick cover-to-cover system and the Execution moves. From what I understand, you can still stealth as much as you want, or blast away. I just wish they would have built on Choas Theory. I wasn't a big fan of Double Agent and the jury is out on Conviction.

I have owned all the Splinter Cell games dating back to the Ex-Box, so I will probably bite on this one too. It must be that Tom Clancy fanboy in me.  ;D

I hear what you are saying Bud and I am still debating on this one.  I did play DA 'once through' but could never go back.  We did some of the spy stuff but not much else.

I stopped at Pandora Tomorrow.

I had no problem spending 45 minutes or so just trying to get from one side of the room to the other, using nothing but stealth tactics.

As soon as it started to become more shooter and less stealth, I lost interest.

I just preferred "Palm Pilot" Sam.

Not sure even what he carries now for his PDA stuff.

Haven't had a chance to play the demo yet but really want to see what the reviews say as far as the multiplayer portion goes. Sounds like Spec Ops but more in depth

maybe b/c i am a barbarian at heart, stealth games have never catered to me.  I remember trying one SC game and gave up on the noise meter.

The difference with Conviction is you can play stealth or rambo...whichever you prefer.  :D  Although, if you go guns a-blazing......u don't have much armor, so a few shots and you will be down.

The addition of the Execution moves is emphatically satisfying.

MP Co-op is fantastic. FINALLY.............an THunt game and a Horde mode.
