“On April 15 we will discontinue the Xbox Live service for original Xbox consoles and games, including Xbox v1 games playable on Xbox 360 and Xbox Originals,” wrote Marc Whitten, general manager of the online service.

Until recently when my counterstrike disc finally kicked the bucket i did fire that up from time to time. MS said a while back that original games were what was holding back expanding the friends list. Lets see what happens.

I still enjoy Crimson Skies, and occasionally look for someone to play with on Live. I even hooked up our original Xbox recently. The TV I'm using now had extra jacks. I was planning on running a network cable to it soon. I just needed to relocate a router, or get a switch/hub for this room. There are some other original games in the house I may play, but I don't recall them now. Disappointing news.

I did a very stupid thing awhile back and traded in my XBOX system and games so that I could pick up a Wii

I still regret it, not getting the Wii, but trading the XBOX. Wish i could fire up the old black brick and play me some classic games.

mmm dont really care wat they do wit the original xbox i dont own it nomore and dont have any games i play on my 360..so really dont care!!

I sold one of my original old sboxes when I bought my second 360. I kept the other one because I had a couple of games I liked, that weren't crossover games, and the kids would stiull play some from time to time. But the slide tray to the CD part stopped opening a couple of months ago, so the last old box was retired.

My son and I still play KOTOR, Ultimate Spiderman and Fable. I have also hung onto a few like Links 2004 (I won't part with that)

most of the original games I play are single player...and it is too bad that they are stopping service. But you do have to give MS credit for running it for 4 years after the launch of the 360.
