I know exactly how you feel Scott. I don't know about you but I'm like a little kid when I order something in the mail, I'm at the mail box every day in eager anticipation of my package

Yeah I was checking everyday, my sister even commented on how attentive I was for the mail for two weeks. 

I got the drive replaced it and the end result is fantastic. I can't believe how quiet the drive is now, no more grinding.  When I first replaced it and put a disc in the screen just turned black and didn't show anything and I freaked out and was going to check the error code and pushed the eject button and put the disc back in and everything has been fine ever since.

Well I got Bioshock 2 last night at midnight couldn't wait to get home to try out the MP for tonight's Launch Night and the game started loading up and went to the title screen and "BAM" everything went black. The system didn't lock up but the drive quit working again. Now I am back to where I started. I stayed up till 5 am reading and taking it apart and checking everything I could find out about and I got it working intermitently but couldn't get it to run stable enough to actually use.  No secondary error codes will show up so I have no clue. I guess I have had it almost 4 yrs but come on man.  I am getting an elite Thur or Fri with the bigger HDD so I will install everything I can to it. I had my 60 full and was juggling games on it already so I will enjoy the extra space.

Too bad the 360 is acting up, but with an Elite and a project Xbox to play with, you'll have it all.
