I enjoy racing on Friday nights and I wonder if we try a different host if lag seems to be an issue?

I'm less than a mile from the switching station running DSL on a 6Mbps package.
Plus I'm in the middle of the country so each coast only has to meet halfway.

Unless we are all going to Washington State located servers to connect...
...I'll look further into it and ask some contacts who would know.

I don't see how changing the host is going to change the lag situation.

We are either connected or not.

The issue more logically seems to be that we are running during peak usage times for both Live and the net.

I am not as experienced as playing Forza on live, but, I do notice when playing single player, whenever someone from my friends list logs on I get some lag. Not sure if this relates to part of the issue as a whole or not. Just something i noticed.

Yeah Nine, that's why I have the notifications turned off lest everything goes choppy on top of the random slick areas.
I'll get more info on how the servers come into play with online racing and report back.

This is the second time I've had online trouble at this track so maybe there is an issue there.

I am running DSL but i don't notice lag(other than the occasional stuff we all get sometines) and haven't had any complaints from people over time. When I'm playing COD games i usually have full bars. I just wondering if its certain peoples connection could be effecting it also.

Someone mentioned that it may be my control setup compounding the situation which sounds plausible...
...I need to get on the track right now so I'll get back to this later.  :-\

Congrats Dingo...I was just unable to really come to grips with the Acura and was not really even to challenge you. ::) Hopefully next series will be better.

Yeah thanks, that makes three in a row now...

I was able to find the speed in the Acura and got lucky on some close calls i the last couple...

Looking forward to the Lotus... ;D

We may have to put a governor on your engine Dingo or try to keep you talking more during the races. ::)

Congrats, you really had a handle on that Acura.

True... however, we may be able to identify who is exactly causing the issue with the lag. There are issues that we cannot control with the ISP's and they would never tell you if there was. My 16Mb/2Mb is theoretically great, but sometimes its just painful trying to host with dropouts and other not being able to join.

My point is that there not be anything your doing or have done, but host for you that night might not work, that with a migration to someone else might allow us to race issue free.

After watching the IROC replay I'm dumbfounded, it showed damage on several without effect and
tire wear would go from 25% worn on the front to 10% just as I was pitting with my 19% engine damage on lap 8
and then it showed no engine repair done with me down on power by around 50hp which did make it handle better but very slow.
Then others with engine damage and pulling away from those without any damage running in the same gear/rpms and speed.
And then some with high tire heat and wear while others had little to none and nowhere near the wear.

All just too fricken weird to believe.

Something just wasn't/isn't right and something in the game was being effected by the issues if they were indeed connection related.
We know the damage is in there to begin with and has but to be triggered.
I'm thinking it is getting triggered somehow and takes for a while and then resets or doesn't
which is why each lap and traction seemed so random.

In the end it's just the way it is and all we can do is keep moving and indeed try pissing on sparkplugs if it does start such behavior up again in another race.
I haven't talked about how MS does the connection with my friend but at this point I'm all out of GAF.

Just ignore my ranting/venting as I just needed to let it out so I can move on with this.
