Extra Life - 24 Hours of Gaming
« on: October 16, 2009, 08:27:19 PM »
I know it has been a while since I've been around, but things are straightening out and I should be around more frequently.  Since I've been away from any form of regular gaming, my gaming skills are a little rusty.  However, my family is getting involved (along with some other friends) with the Extra Life Charity started by Sarcastic Gamer.  It benefits the Texas Children's Hospital for children with pediatric cancer.  What we are attempting to do is game from 8AM eastern tomorrow for a full 24 hours.  There is a donation page and I've been asking anyone who is able to donate whatever they can.  There are different levels and the last level is "Other" where you can donate any amount (even 1.00 helps).

If you can please donate.  I will be live-blogging the entire time, and will post here when I am able with updates.

If you can't donate, then look for me on LIVE or Steam all day and night, I'll need some help getting through the full 24 hours.

Thanks.

Just wanted to put this up, this is my family's uStream link so you can check out the action.  I will mostly be using it to give updates starting around noon.  Think of it as a live update channel for what games are being played and which ones are coming up.

I recommend checking it in the afternoon and late at night.  Should be some great stuff.

T-minus 53 minutes....

Thanks for the support guys!

My son rocks out in the fight against pediatric cancer.*  I myself have been fighting Nazi Zombies on Steam...ALLL DAY.  Thinking of switching over to the 360 soon.

*Yep he's rocking a flannel, and singing the chorus to "Nearly Lost You"  The kid rules.

72.00 short of our goal.  But we had fun.  Donations are accepted until October 31, so if you missed it feel free to donate until then.   HUGE thanks to Trane for his generous donation and for all your thoughts.  You guys rock.

I have not been near the PC too much this weekend to comment but this great of you to do this Joey. I certainly do not mind supporting a friend for a great cause, glad you had fun :)
